With the ads weeks ago of the 19 teams for the National League and the 18 (record figure) of the Women’s League, the board of the club association confirmed that the 2025/26 season of the Argentine League will be played with 34 clubs.
The category will be expanded its number of teams to 34 -17 by conference-, being the new Hindu Club of Córdoba, Bochas de Colonia Caroya and Huracán de las Heras, in addition to those ascended from the Federal League: central central between Gualeguaychú and Santa Paula de Galvez.
On the other hand, American Hispanic of Río Gallegos decided to sell his place and Zárate Basket, descended, chose not to participate in the category. Likewise, as reported in a timely manner, Riachuelo exchanged his place with the club association and will play the Argentine League under the name of Rioja fusion.
The 2025/26 season of the second professional category of Argentine basketball will begin the first days of November. A unique tournament will be played in two conferences with all against all.
For the ordering of the conferences, the Department of Competencies took the least possible route of them and from each of the clubs in search of logistics optimization.
The regular phase will culminate at the end of March 2026 to give way to the playoffs. In that instance, the teams located from 1st to 4th place will wait for the reclassification from 5th to 12th place.
The Eighth Final series will be played within each conference and in the quarterfinals the best four teams of the North Conference and the four best teams of the South Conference will cross each other. The finals will define the promotion to the National League 2026/27.
