Juan Segundo Menna Eyes International Opportunities After Federal League

Argentinian basketball player Juan segundo Menna, fresh off a stint with
Centenario de Neuquén in the Federal Basketball League, is weighing his
options after his teamS elimination in the Round of 16. Menna, known for
his scoring ability and court vision, recently spoke about his future
aspirations, his connection to his hometown, and the challenges facing
basketball in Argentina.

“We came from staying out with Salta Basketball in the round of 16, we did
not expect it, but it is an experienced team, which last year almost leaves
Athens,” Menna stated, acknowledging the competitiveness of the league.

Now, Menna is exploring opportunities beyond Argentina’s borders. “I am
waiting if something from the outside comes out, from the League of Uruguay,
Ecuador or Colombia to add experience, not to be stopped, and not wait for
the July recess that there is the market begins to move more: the idea of
mine is to play the National League and if not to do one more season in the
Argentine League,” he explained. This mirrors the career trajectory of many

with local basketball. “I have nothing against anyone, I just wanted to give
a hand – he reiterated – that it is indeed more entertaining and being with my
friends who play here in the clubs, I am traveling twice a week to Orense,
as there are my friends and I train in the best way I give them a hand
to them and they, sometimes I go to Hurricane because the tota is and some
boys that I know, trying to be in activity and shake hands and give a
hand.” This dedication mirrors the efforts of many former NBA players who
return to their hometowns to mentor young athletes and support local
basketball programs.

To stay in shape, Menna is actively training.”I arrived last Saturday, I

every day to continue activity,” he explained. This rigorous training
regimen is essential for maintaining peak performance and preparing for
future opportunities.

Menna also emphasized the importance of supporting youth basketball. “I went
to Orense to see alumni-Costa Sud, the only one I saw and on Friday I will
go to see Hurricane –quil, there are engaging kids. The other time I
went to see the U17 Provincial League, with a ball-huracán club there are a

He also touched on the challenges faced by teams in smaller towns trying to

some way,but they should give a hand in the sense that there are many boys
with level to play and they have to go from their homes to have the
opportunity,” he concluded. His call for increased support for young
athletes echoes the sentiments of many in the basketball community who
