Half a year after securing a bronze medal at the Paris Olympics, boxer Wyatt sanford has revealed his decision to transition into the professional boxing arena.
The 26-year-old athlete from Kennetcook, Nova Scotia, has inked a deal with Eye of the Tiger Management, a Quebec-based firm renowned for organizing professional boxing events.

Wyatt Sanford, who clinched bronze in the 63.5 kg category at the Paris Olympics, became the first Canadian in nearly three decades to medal in this weight class. The last to achieve this milestone was fellow Nova Scotian David Defiagbon from Halifax in 1996.

The experience in Paris was transformative. It made me realize I’m ready to take on the next challenge,
he explained. I’ve always dreamed of competing at the highest level, and now I’m persistent to make my mark in the professional ranks.
