Torrejón de Ardoz Judo Club Celebrates a Year of Triumphs
The Sakura Judo Club of Torrejón de Ardoz concluded 2024 on a high note, adding to their remarkable medal count with a stellar performance in the final two Spanish Cup competitions. Held in Barbastro (Huesca) and Granadilla (Tenerife), these events saw the club’s athletes secure an impressive seven medals: two gold, three silver, and two bronze.
The Barbastro competition,which took place on November 16th and 17th,witnessed Claudia Juan’s dominance in the children’s -48 kilos category,earning her a well-deserved gold medal. Arantxa Agüero also showcased her skills, securing a silver medal in the -36 kilos category within the same age group.
Building on their success, Claudia Juan and Arantxa Agüero repeated their podium finishes at the Granadilla competition on December 14th. Juan once again claimed gold in the -48 kilos category, while Agüero secured silver in the -36 kilos category. The club’s success didn’t stop there. Óscar Manso fought valiantly to earn a silver medal in the cadet -66 kilos category, while Sandra Manso secured a bronze medal in the cadet -52 kilos category. Rounding out the club’s impressive performance, Valeria Gallardo achieved a bronze medal in the children’s -48 kilos category.
