San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy will miss six months with an injury to the elbow of the arm he throws the ball with.
This is what the ESPN network learned on Monday. It looks like the pivot will have to go under the knife to undergo Tommy John type surgery. The 23-year-old athlete, however, would like to obtain a second medical opinion before resigning himself to having surgery.
Purdy was hurt in the first quarter of the National Conference Final against the Eagles in Philadelphia on Sunday. He was then forced back into the fray in the second half after his substitute suffered an injury.
The Arizona native is one of the NFL’s greatest stories of 2022. The very last pick in the latest draft was sent into the fray in Week 13, after Jimmy Garoppolo and Trey Lance fell in battle. He then went on to win eight games in a row, until the Eagles ended his fairy tale.
Purdy completed 67.1% of the passes he attempted for 1,374 yards and 13 touchdowns in the regular season.
