The sure shot: Mastiffs bounce back
Praised after an excellent start to the season, Lille is experiencing a blow less well in the league. Beaten in Brest before the international break (3-2), the Mastiffs have not won any of their last three games in L1, while they went to crush Milan in the Europa League (0-3). Still solid 2nd, they are now five points behind PSG, which we imagined they could titillate in the race for the title. Christophe Galtier’s players are therefore expected at the turn against Lorient on this 11th day. Les Merlus, 17th with already six defeats on the clock, have everything of the expiatory victim. They, too, haven’t won any of their last three games, in which they haven’t scored once, and they’ve taken just four points in five away games this season.
The predictions of the week: the derby for OL and Depay

Even without Yilmaz, his top scorer, suspended here, Lille leaves legitimately favorite in our eyes. This will be the occasion for David, the most expensive recruit in the history of the club, to unlock his goals counter, facing one of the most permeable defenses of the elite (17 goals conceded by Lorient already). And given that the Hake attack is running out of fuel when it comes to facing the 2nd best defense of L1 (7 goals conceded by the LOSC), these are all elements that tip the scales in favor of Lille in our eyes. here.
Our bet – Lille beats Lorient @ 1.55
The shot to try: Liverpool hold the shock
We could see a turning point in the season in the Premier League. Third in the Premier League, Liverpool receives Leicester, leader with a point ahead of the Reds, while Tottenham, inserted between the two teams (tied on points with Liverpool) receives … Manchester City. Jürgen Klopp’s players therefore have a golden opportunity to regain the lead in the championship, abandoned just before the international cut after the draw against City, precisely (1-1), and to strike a big blow. Despite the many absences (Salah, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk, Fabinho, Thiago…), the Reds, unbeaten for seven games in all competitions, seem capable of winning here. It has been three seasons since they lost to Leicester in PL (five wins, one draw) and since the Foxes’ comeback in the top flight, they have presented an almost perfect record at Anfield against this opponent (four wins, two null).
Leicester, victorious in their last six matches in all competitions, have beaten Manchester City (2-5) and Arsenal (0-1) away this season in the league. But Liverpool are much harder to disrupt than those two teams and the twice-beaten Foxes this season (at home each time) have proven themselves to be far from infallible. Between two of PL’s best attacks (18 goals scored each), the show should be there and it’s hard to imagine a small 1-0 victory for Liverpool here, despite the strength of both defenses in recent weeks.
Our bet – Liverpool beat Leicester and over 1.5 goals in the game @ 2.00
