Defender David Aebischer (19) signed a two-year contract with Friborg-Gottéron. Trained in the Dragons sector, he has been skating for two years with the Gatineau Olympiques in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League where, under the leadership of coach Eric Landry, he is one of the most respected offensive backs in the championship.

Decorated with the second star after his last match on Saturday against Victoriaville (4-0), the Swiss international U20 obtained 16 points in the 20 games played in 2019-2020 with a team under reconstruction. Power-play organizer, he regularly plays more than 24 minutes per game.

At the last U20 Worlds, where Switzerland was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Russia, David Aebischer had collected six assists in five duels. Several North American observers had estimated that the future Gottéron player was one of the most underrated rearers in his age category.

Next June, he will be eligible for the NHL draft to be held at the Bell Center in Montreal.
