Manchester United and Arsenal seem frustrated when they target Dejan Kulusevski while Juventus appear to be close to Atalanta’s midfielder.
United and Arsenal both followed the Swedish national team, who scored four goals and took seven assists in Serie A while on loan at Parma this season.
But according to an Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Juventus has agreed a deal worth £ 30 million for Kulusevski, with the nineteen year old who has agreed on personal terms with the giants of Serie A.
United had submitted an offer of £ 26 million, according to the Italian outlet Calciomercato, but it seems that they were beaten by Juventus in the race to sign one of the most coveted young players in the world.
Arsenal and United have been among several Premier League teams to have sent scouts to watch Kulusevski in recent weeks, according to the Sun.
Kulusevski, who can play in midfield, drew the attention of United scouts as he played against Parma in their 2-0 win over Roma recently, where Red Devils defender Chris Smalling is on loan.
But United and Arsenal knew they would face the competition from Italy, with Juventus and Inter Milan both passionate about the player, while Liverpool was said to be monitoring him as well.
Earlier this month, Sun said Kulusevski’s agent had already met with clubs to discuss a potential transfer before next summer’s Euro 2020 finals.
United was one of those teams, according to respected Italian football journalist Nicolo Schira.
Schira said Inter and United met with Kulusevski’s agent ahead of a New Year’s deal.
FCInterNews reports that Liverpool are also Kulusevski’s admirers and that the Reds are considering a summer move.
But it seems that Juventus may have won the match for the exciting signing of the talent.
