Racing! Engaging in CHRB business

-

Hello, my name is John Cherwa and we welcome back to our horse racing newsletter and we are getting some tips on harassment Rob Henie.

It is still more than a week away but the next meeting of California Horse Racing Board could be one for the ages. It's on November 21 at 9:30 pm across the street from Del Mar at the Hilton. There are 28 items, undoubtedly canceling the October meeting. I wouldn't be surprised if he was still going well after Del Mar's first job. Heck, it may still be going on when the teams change valet at the Hilton.

How I see it, there are three things that should be very interesting.

The first one, No. 3, electing a new chairperson and deputy chairperson. Now, the big story is that Fred Maas going from the board when its term expires on 1 January Bryce Miller of the San Diego Union-Tribune. You can read his column here. (Note: It is not the first item.)

“Because of the time constraints with everything else I was doing, it didn't make sense, ”Said Maas, a special adviser to the Bears, with Miller. “I always hope for the best, for sport and for those involved.”

Current vice-chairman Madeline Auerbach the slam-dunk was considered better, but then things went south. We (the Times L.) gave a report on her business arrangement with her Tim Ritvo, chief operating officer of the Stronach Group. It was a case to be a business partners with someone who regulates you, which was good at the CHRB solicitors. When he was known, Ritvo sold his interest in a horse called Fravel, named after him Craig Fravel, now chief executive of TSG. (This cannot be done.)

This was subsequently re-examined by the TSG and RSG Gav Newsom Gov he spoke loudly and clearly about a desire to cancel conflicts of interest. Auerbach is one of the main breeders and owners of California and has done nothing but to make the most of horses and racing in the state first. But at this time, her candidature was made on the chair. In fact, don't be surprised if Auerbach announces that she is leaving the table before the end of the year.

So who is left? There are three new members. Alex Solisa former jockey, he has been a member since 2015 but in fact he is not as the dominant personality you would need in a chair. Yes Dennis Alfieri, who has a great personality and could control the room. And appointed this year Gregory Ferraro, who is a veterinarian and which is best in charge when safety is so great.

There are also two newcomers, who had the same meeting when the board voted to give Northern California time to reach the racing dates but denied the same privilege to Southern California. Both votes were allowing extra time of California California Oscar Gonzales and Wendy Mitchell. The rest of the board quo voted with its controversial dates of California California.

OK, we're going to guess here that Ferraro is the next chairman and that Gonzalez is the next vice-chairman. Whatever happens, it will be a deal done before the meeting even begins. There won't be a floor fight.

The next major item 8 is that allows Santa Anita to hold his meeting starting on 18 December to broadcast revenue simultaneously and December 26 for live racing. Usually this would be an easy passage – and it will only exist for it could be long to go there. Based on the amount of public traffic connected to Del Mar getting his last license this could go on for some time. In the case of Del Mar, animal rights activists went to the microphone one after another to believe that Del Mar should not be granted a license. He never suspected him.

It may be even longer that point to get caused by 37 Santa Anita's death record this year (going back to December 30). Here's the deal. Santa Anita will get his license. Now, everyone who wants to speak has the opportunity to speak. But I was surprised at a recent meeting of my HOA where the idea to cancel a 20-plus year rule was that you could not park your pick overnight in your path. This rule goes back when the pickups were not a high quality car. However, the HOA boards ruled that if you were to say the same thing to a previous speaker that you were only allowed to stand up and say “I agree with what was said.”

Certainly, there are different rules between a government body and a HOA, as it should be. However, after a while of a dozen of the recent CHRB meetings, the points being brought up, on both sides, are beginning to sound like the same.

A number of medication issues are also being surrendered, but I believe that No. 19 The final flash point was: “Discussion and action by the Board in relation to the addition of the CHRB Rule 1688. Use of Riding Crops.”

Oh, boy, this could go on for some time if he hasn't put it out before the meeting. The best guess is that a compromise will be reached allowing the rider to be used (ie Fuip) but not higher than the shoulder. It is similar to the European standard. This prediction is the least certain.

So stay tuned because the end of the year is more interesting.

Weekly disadvantageous lesson

This is our weekly contribution from Rob Henie from the WCHR (West Coast Harassment Report) and ECHR (East Coast Prevention Report). Today's analysis comes from the seventh race at Del Mar and includes some blocked angles in the mix. Rob, take it out.

Today's lesson is from the third race at Del Mar.

“This is a special morning weight at 1 ⅛ miles on the peat. The WCHR has known for years, therefore, because of our rich work with times, understanding trainer patterns on the circuit, therefore being able to find out if horse involved well. In a race similar to this race, the full range is already underway, but as we like to tell members, the MSW area is often very different from others. For example, when we look at # 5 MUSKOKA, we see a horse that just lost in $ 50,000 police clone, but in fact, as we said, the group was not $ 50,000 more than a $ 12,500 database. That's a nice note, don't you say? While most of the handicappers are watching the 12th October at its value, as a $ 50,000 race, it was much smaller. The horse # 7 MAIN MAIN he leaves a race on October 20, MSW listed, but as we noticed this was a $ 32,000 group, so it wasn't terrible, but it was far from the legitimate foundation of MSW. Baseline? An understanding of the stock that makes up a morning race, is that angle so steep to be on our side. With that in mind, the best option is CAY HELP (# 2), running fairly back in New York for Don Chatlos, but face better MSW groups than the bunch listed this, even adding blinkers with it today Mike Smith accepting. While we seem to have a matched MSW race here, there are poor areas in front of the local team, opening up a good effort from the New York invasion. DA KINE (# 1) strings through racing together from the long series, fresh here late in the year, and more land, turf, and Draft Van Dyke. Improvement is coming, and if the invaders fail to do it for any reason, the door would be open to reach this one first.

Who understands, I know?

Me, of course. In a Saturday newsletter, where I mentioned Belvoir Bay, I said he won the Breeders Sprint Cup. Of course, I meant the Sprint Turf. Sorry about that.

Del Mar Review

Feature Saturday, the $ 75,000 Let It Ride stakes for 3 year olds going miles on the turf was a finish as close as you could get. Official margin of winning Bob and Jackie was listed above Pedro Proud as a nose because there is nothing less.

Bob and Jackie were out for more than 10 months with a bone problem. He is trained by Richard Baltas and his riding was there Heriberto Figueroa.

Bob and Jackie paid $ 6.80, $ 4.00 and $ 2.80. Ocean Fury was in third place followed by Dueling and Golden Birthday in the park five horses.

Since he won Eddie Logan Stakes late last year, Bob and Jackie returned successfully to the competition, discovering the Proud Head to get the $ 77,550.

Riding by a star apprentice once off Heriberto FigueroaBob and Jackie won a pioneering finish at the narrowest margins of the Proud Pride, who piloted Rafael Bejarano. Figueroa won the third Saturday on board Tiger Twirling.

Ocean Fury came third in the top five, the best with 8-5 which was three quarters of a length behind the runner and a nose in front of Dueling fourth. The Golden Birthday, the former pacesetter, went to the fifth and last fifth. The withdrawal from the competition was carnivorous.

Bob and Jackie, who owned Zayat Stables and received training from Richard Baltas, were sent in the time of 1: 34.97 along the mile over the grass course. The second compact option returned at 2-1, Twirling son Candy $ 6.60, $ 4 and $ 2.60 after he celebrated his third victory in four debut. The first money of $ 46,260 increased the cholt's earnings to $ 134,500.

Jockey Draft Van Dyke he had a triple saddle, scoring with three two-year-old children, the French poets Guitty in the fourth race, the very stressful goal which was very much emphasized. Authentic in the fifth and end, in the ninth race, Unoptured Hero, trained by Baltas.

Del Mar preview

There are nine races on Sunday card starting at 12:30 p.m. It is a nice card with three optional / optional clampers, two morning races (unclaimed) and bets. The feature of the Desi Arnaz stakes is $ 100,000 for two-year old sheets of 6 ½ furlongs. And we all know that Desi liked to the dilute.

The best option, at 4-5, is Leucothea for the trainer Peter Miller and jockey Abel Cedillo. Now I am very close and personal to Leucothea more than most of the horses. I was in the circle of winners for the Chandelier Stakes at Santa Anita when the jockey fell badly Norberto Arroyo, Jr.and went to the outer railway where original speakers were standing. (Although I was running fast quickly.) Luckily no one was seriously injured, including the horse. She came back and won 8 ½ lengths of the Anoakia Stay. At risk of outgoing joke, if she has not won, she will have some “splash”. ”There are two for five this year.

Stellar Sound is the second best choice at 5-2 Bob Baffert and Draft Van Dyke. She won the first race with half her length but finished the fifth in Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante.

The field sizes are in order: 7, 8, 7, 8, 7, 8, 7, 6, 10.

Pick Dmr Bob Ike the day

5th IMMEDIATE (4-1)

Sprinter quick peat from Bill McLean A barn has rattled three straight at the area of this five vacant at Golden Gate and there is no reason she cannot pull a ship down and win another one. She has 0-for-5 on Del Mar course but some of them were going long and it is clear that she got her niche going short on grass. She seems too fast for these, so we will give her a tab to take another one in a gateway to a wire.

Result Saturday: Ella's awesome tour (7-1) got a tour and a wonderful trip, and he followed the winner on the stretch in the end, and it fired, the best runner and clean it from the third horse. We will take this effort from a price horse every time.

The AUTHENTIC had a speed from the railway that was due outside a rival, he took the lead into the stretch, and was isolated under left hand by stimulating in the middle of the street and it was best. JEFFNJOHN 'STHUNDR is approaching the speed of the railway, splitting horses that are approaching the center of the street and getting better with a competitor for the place. A MAJOR HEAT came through deep locks outside the second place, he came through a stretch into the stretch and set aside the others. A rectangular and interior chamber inside the interior, which fought back in turn and into the stretch and eventually weakened. CLUB broke Boys a bit slowly, they were taken out early and they drove off the track, it was widened into the stretch and they did not rally. SOOM DOMINANT broke in and a little slowly, the ground stalking saved the speed, it came out in the stretch and had little left for the drive.

Successfully thrust the inside speed, he came out leaving the legs and going into the stretch, he took the lead outside the flank in the upper stretch, stuck from him on the left by stimulating in the middle the street and winning. Awesome ELLA saved the land pouring the speed, it also came out leaving the legs and three wide into the stretch and it was the second best thing. LADY TIMMY HO (IRE) broke a little slow, angled with the railway, split horses into and second turns, it came through a stretch into the stretch and got the show. I was giving up between horses and I chased the railway then, I went outside a race on the second turn, I cut the corner into the stretch, split rivals in a deep stretch and was finished. There was a speed between competitors stopping slightly from the railway at CHEROKEE MAIDEN, continuing on the second turning, splitting horses into a deep stretch and the rallying was not necessary. LOOKINTOGETEVEN went right angled and then settled outside a rival on the back, he went deep on the second turn and he across the stretch and he could not summon the late kick that was needed. There was a speed between horses at a lively right angle and the speed in it, dropping the lead in the upper stretch and weakening it in the final window. Striked SABINOS PRIDE three deep then outside of a rival, forward outside the second turn and four wide into the stretch and without the required late kick. FLAMIGO BAY (IRE) departed through wide and then side with an enemy, continued through depth into the second turn and five around the stretch and did not roll it. Lean LACE trí luath go luath, stalctha taobh amuigh de rival, taobh le namhaid ar an dara cas agus díreach ón iarnród isteach sa stráice agus lagaigh sé. Chuaigh OLIVE TÚ NÍOS MÓ a chas tú idir capaill ansin as an iarnród, ar ais taobh istigh ar an dara cas agus lagaigh sé freisin.
