Mike Wobschall is no longer employed by the Minnesota Vikings, the team confirmed in a statement to Bring Me The News Tuesday.
"Mike Wobschall is no longer an employee of the Minnesota Vikings, and we wish him every success in his future endeavors," said Vikings Vice President of Communications Jeff Anderson in a statement to Bring Me The News.
Wobschall has held the position of Senior Content Manager of the team for the Vikings Entertainment Network. The reason for his departure was not revealed.
"We will examine our options to fill the role in the future," Anderson said.
A weekly article on Vikings.com called "Monday Morning Mailbag" was generally in the hands of Wobschall, although Monday's mailbag was hosted by the team's reporter, Eric Smith.
In addition to working for the Vikings, Wobschall has spent most of the last decade appearing regularly as Paul Allen's guest on KFAN-FM 100.3.
The radio partnership between the Vikings and KFAN also saw Wobschall co-host a weekly show with Mark Rosen entitled "Skol Stories" and co-host a weekly show called "Vikings Final Preparation".
The last of the shows will be broadcast Friday at 18:30. on KFAN and was greeted by Chris Corso of the Vikings, not Wobschall, last Friday, November 1st.
There are, however, two recent segments of "Skol Stories" dated November 2 and 4, respectively, hosted by Wobschall and available on KFAN.com. It is unclear if these are the dates on which the show was recorded or if they have already been recorded and posted on the website these days.
On Vikings.com, the latest episode of "Skol Stories" including Wobschall dates from the week before Detroit's Minnesota win on October 20th.
A spokesman for KFAN declined to make a statement to the question about Wobschall's role in the station.
