Last year's Nature Valley Classic winner Petra Kvitova will not defend her crown this year after deciding that it is too early to get her back from injury.
Kvitova retired from the French Open last month on the eve of his first round match with an arm injury, and it seems that it takes more time to heal before Wimbledon.
Hi guys! Quick update for you.
Unfortunately, Birmingham is too early, but I really work hard to get back as soon as possible and – of course @Wimbledon 🤞 https://t.co/GjDArQCYwE

"Unfortunately, Birmingham is premature," wrote the Wimbledon champion twice on Twitter
"I work really hard to come back as soon as possible and keep everything crossing for Wimbledon.
"I have the best memories from Birmingham," she added. "It was the first place I won a title after I came back from my injury.
"I always have the best time there and I hope next year I'll see you on the beautiful grass pitches."
