Paris – South African opening half Handré Pollard will start with Montpellier from next season, his current Blue Bull team announced on Tuesday.
Pollard, 25, has 39 caps with the Springboks since 2014 and 56 Super Rugby matches with the Bulls.
He will join the MHR after the World Cup, where he will be led by former three-quarter international Xavier Garbajosa, who has just signed up as coach.
"We will miss him, that's for sure. But we can not blame him for his decision to continue his career in France", said the Bulls on their website.
In the South African franchise, he will be replaced by Morné Steyn, back home after six years at Stade Français.
