Despite the rise in the first Bundesliga FC and coach Achim Beierlorzer are in terms of squad planning little financial leeway at signing new commitments. More room would be available only for player sales.

Even before he became the new coach of the 1. FC Cologne was officially announced, Achim Beierlorzer has expressed very benevolent about his new team: "That the 1st FC Cologne was the best team in the league, not only expresses the table space," Beierlorzer said as a coach of Jahn Regensburg after the 5: 3-success of his team on penultimate match day at second division champion Cologne. The 51-year-old even went a step further and gave an outlook on the squad planning of his new employer and future football Bundesliga: "There is not much to be done, only occasionally," he ennobled the existing gambling staff.
The extent to which Beierlorzer, which will be officially presented on Thursday at the Geißbockheim, was inaugurated on this 12th of May already in the financial resources of the FC for transfers in the summer of 2019, is not known. That the funds are likely to be limited, the coach could, however, have noticed. Anyway, this is not a big secret. Although the Cologne after the end of the season 2018/19 again in 15th place of the German TV money list and can expect a premium of 38.5 million from this pot, they are currently, according to information this newspaper only about ten million euros for gaming income available.
Players need to leave the club for more re-engagement
A sum that already includes the transfer fee for the loaned to France Serhou Guirassy. The approximately five million euros for the striker, however, flow only when the SC Amiens holds in Ligue 1 the class. For this purpose, on Friday (21.05 clock), a home win over the fixed as relegated Bretons from Guingamp necessary. Should this fail and Amiens also fail in the following relegation, the FC would remain so only five million euros, and Guirassy would have to return to Cologne.
An unfortunate scenario that the financial shackles that the FC has created, would tighten even a bit. In addition to the rising automatically by the rise of about 7.5 million euros rent for the Rheinenergiestadion and resulting from the rise in salary additional payments for Marco Höger, Jonas Hector and Timo Horn bordered especially the estimated at 50 million euros lying player budget, the transfer opportunities for sports director Armin Veh. Except for Matthias Lehmann (end of career), Johannes Geis and substitute goalkeeper Thomas Kessler, all contracts expire beyond 2019, in most cases even until 2021 and longer.
To make matters worse, that salaries will rise again next season to first division level. For most of the long-term contracts prior to the relegation season, managing director duo Jörg Schmadtke / Alexander Wehrle are responsible. In order to get more scope for new purchases, Armin Veh must ensure that players leave the club.
Given the mostly lucrative contracts of FC professionals a difficult task. According to reports of the "new press" is left-back Jannes Horn (estimated salary in Cologne 1.2 million euros) before a loan to Hannover 96. When Bundesliga relegated to the FC dismissed and resigned Markus beginning should be a candidate for the coaching post. Next to Niklas Hauptmann (loan) could still go Frederik Sörensen. According to reports of "Bild" the Danish central defender returns to Italy. In addition, it can be heard that third league promoted Viktoria Cologne expressed interest in a loan from Nicolas Nartey and Matthias Bader.
However, the very big budget reliefs do not yet represent these personalities. Veh may need to move FC silverware, such as Jorge Meré (a fixed transfer of 30 million euros), to tackle the "punctual" changes Achim Beierlorzer addresses.
