It is this Thursday morning, at 9 o'clock, that Jacques Brunel will announce the composition of the XV of France called to face South Africa, this Saturday (at 21:05 on France 2) at the Stade de France.
After ten days of preparation, the coach chose the Bordeaux scrum half Baptiste Serin to form the hinge with Camille Lopez. The two men were notably associated during the 2017 Tournament under the Novès era.
Serin, who spent a long time last week in Marcoussis on his return to form after a "zero" season, should be preferred to Antoine Dupont. The Toulouse, author of a great return after his serious knee injury at the opening of the last tournament, will take place on the bench.
At the opening, Lopez, who should have played with his friend Clermont Parra if he had not been injured, returns a year and a half after his last international match.
At the center of the attack tricolor, Doumayrou will pair with Bastareaud, leaving on the bench Gael Fickou, yet in great shape with the Stade Français, but the versatility winger / center will make a valuable replacement.
The probable team: Médard – Thomas, Bastareaud, Doumayrou, Penaud – (o) Lopez, (m) Serin – Lauret, Picamoles, Babillot – Maestri, Vahaamahina – Gomes Sa, Guirado (cap.), Poirot.
