MOSCOW, August 24. / TASS /. Olympic champion in 1956 in the USSR national team, former football player of Spartak Alexei Paramonov died at the age of 94. Tass was informed about this by his close friend Mikhail Zakharov.
"Aleksey Paramonov died, relatives will come to the hospital today and be determined with the date of the funeral," Zakharov said.
Paramonov in the "Spartacus" spent 13 seasons (1947-1959), in which he played 302 games and scored 73 goals. With red and white, he became a four-time champion of the USSR, a two-time winner of the USSR Cup, a two-time silver and three-time bronze medalist of the national championship. As part of the USSR national team, Paramonov took part in 13 games and became the Olympic champion in Melbourne in 1956.
Paramonov is Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, Honored Coach of the RSFSR, veteran of the Great Patriotic War, Honored Worker of Physical Culture and Sports of the Russian Federation, Academician of the Academy of Security, Defense and Law and Order, Honorary citizen of Borovsk (Kaluga Region), where he was born on February 21, 1925.
