The UD Ibiza-Bádminton Pitiús debuted in a big way this weekend in its return to the top national league.

Ernesto García’s players returned to the top badminton competition with force and won on the first day against one of their direct rivals for permanence, CB Ravachol, thus taking revenge on the team that caused them to be relegated, given that the Galician club It was the one that defeated UD Ibiza-Pitiús two years ago and banished it to the Gold Division.

A few years later, the Ibizan entity has defeated its Galician rival by a resounding score of 5-2, with a solid performance by its boys and girls, who fought until the last point of each match, taking their opponents to the fifth set in more than one match. And that effort had its reward and the island team was very close to achieving 6-1, which was just a few points away.

The Galicians, however, sold their defeat dearly and put Olympian Clara Azurmendi, who this season has returned to the ranks of UD Ibiza-Pitiús, on the ropes, leading her to play the fifth set in their women’s singles match.

With this result, UD Ibiza-Pitiús is placed in first place in the classification.
