NFL 1 p.m. game recap: Pollard makes Ezekiel Elliott forget and Dallas has fun

The Dallas Cowboys pulled off their biggest offensive production of the season in a 49-29 win over the Chicago Bears.

Despite the absence of Ezekiel Elliott due to an overextended right knee, the Cowboys (6-2) fared very well.

Tony Pollard took over and even quarterback Dak Prescott used his legs. After his touchdown that opened the scoring after an 11-play, 75-yard streak, Prescott then spotted CeeDee Lamb to make it 14-0.

Starting running back, Pollard in turn added a major for 18 yards. He finished his day on the job with 131 rushing yards and 3 touchdowns, for a total of 15 this season. His best rush of the afternoon game was 54 yards.

Jake Ferguson scored his first NFL touchdown in the second quarter as the Cowboys went perfect in their first four offensive streaks to eventually lead 28-17 at halftime.

The defense also had a say when Micah Parsons recovered a loose ball from David Montgomery and then ran into the end zone.

Prescott completed 21 of 27 passes for 250 yards, two touchdown passes and one on the ground.

Tua and the Dolphins come back against the Lions

Tua Tagovailoa threw an 11-yard touchdown pass to Mike Gesicki late in the third quarter as the Miami Dolphins rallied to a 31-27 win over the Detroit Lions.

The Dolphins (5-3) have won two straight since Tagovailoa returned from a concussion. The Lions (1-6) have lost five in a row.

Detroit scored on its five possessions in the first half to lead 27-17 after scoring a total of six points in its previous two games.

The Dolphins took their first lead late in the third quarter on a pass from Tagovailoa to Gesicki, who was unmarked in the end zone, to score on a fifth consecutive possession.

Hill and Waddle had a combined 1,688 receiving yards, setting a record for two teammates in the first eight games of a season.
