The NBA has a seven-game game on Friday night, which offers a very interesting matchup. Gordon Hayward makes his first trip to Utah since leaving the franchise to sign a four-year deal with the Boston Celtics. To make the game even more interesting, Celtics star gendarme Kyrie Irving was not satisfied when he attended his grandfather's funeral. The Celtics won a comeback win over the Phoenix Suns of 116-109 on Thursday.

In another action, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons led the Philadelphia 76ers to an overtime win against the Charlotte Hornets in an Eastern Conference. Kemba Walker was brilliant with 30 points, nine assists and seven rebounds, but the dynamic duo of the Sixers was just too much for Charlotte.

The night ends with the Minnesota Timberwolves and the Sacramento Kings. Jimmy Butler goes to Minnesota after scoring 24 points in 42 minutes against the Los Angeles Lakers on Wednesday. From the kings' point of view, sniper keeper Buddy Hield remains a strong point, scoring an average of 23.6 points per contest over the past five games.

Here are the results, highlights and updates for Friday night.

NBA schedule for Friday, November 9th

Embiid, Simmons have monster evenings

In fact, trust the process. Joel Embiid was unstoppable on Friday against the Hornets. He brought a season high of 42 points, while he demolished 18 rebounds and blocked four blows. Ben Simmons himself was not a sleeper dog and completed the statistics sheet with 22 points, 13 assists, eight rebounds, three blocks and two steals. Simmons also blocked Kemba Walker's 3-point attempt towards the end of overtime, which could have offset the game.

LeVert beats game winner

Caris LeVert has a unique moment for his young NBA career when he defeated the Nuggets on Friday in Denver with a playful floater. LeVert finished the game with 17 points and five assists.

Rozier starts for Irving

The Celtics start Scary Terry again. While Boston prepares for a great counterpart to jazz, Terry Rozier starts instead of Kyrie Irving, who missed the game for personal reasons.

Simmons completes McConnell's full court pass

T.J. McConnell could be the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Watch the point guard's full-court pass to Ben Simmons while Simmons finishes the sequence with an effective dive against the Hornets.

Wizards do not know how to get the ball to the finish

If the Cleveland Cavaliers were not, the wizards would be the joke of the league. With 2-8 they have the third worst record in the NBA. They are in the defense league in first place and allow 120.5 points per game.

And somehow they have managed to accomplish all that by not really bringing the ball into play.
