Hibernian has signed Daryl Horgan, the Republic of Ireland official, for three years.
The 26-year-old winger comes from Preston North End for an undisclosed fee after he was a long-term goal of Hibs coach Neil Lennon.
After the international release, Horgan will go straight into the squad to compete against St. Johnstone on Sunday at McDiarmid Park.
"It's a real coup to get him over the line," Lennon told the Hibs website.
"Daryl will give us a real threat to the future and a certain strength – we wanted to add something in this area and I am very pleased with the opportunities we have now."
Horgan moved from Dundalk to Deepdale in January 2017, playing for Preston 44 times, scoring four goals.
"I've talked with the manager and I'm looking forward to his plans for the upcoming season," Horgan said.
"Obviously, the guys in Europe and the league started well – they had a good season last year and the ambition is there to pursue another successful year."
