Vasiliy Lomachenko and Kell Brook are the favorites of today's New York and Sheffield bouts, both of which are broadcast live.
Lomachenko (11-1, 9 KO) meets Jose Pedraza (25-1, 12 KO) at the ESPN Main Event (21.00 ET) from the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. 30-year-old Lomachenko rose to 135 pounds in May of this year and had some fights against Jorge Linares before leaving Linares in the tenth round.
Lomachenko also has a shoulder operation behind him, but that's not enough to trouble the competitors. Bovada has listed Lomachenko as a favorite with 3500 points against "Sniper" Pedraza, a quality contender and title holder listed at +1200.
Isaac Dogboe (20-0 14 KO), the bantamweight super-titular, is down at -800 for his title defense against Emanuel Navarrete (25-1, 22 KO), who is at +500.
In England Brook (37-2, 26 KO) is an absolute favorite against the opponent Michael Zerafa (25-2, 14 KO). While Zerafa won eight straight fights at home in Australia, he has lost in previous attempts to catch up, including a brutal knockout by Peter Quillin in 2015.
Brook is listed by Bovada at -10000 (ten thousand, not a thousand, that's not a typo), Zerafa at +1600.
On this undercard, welterweight forecast Josh Kelly (8-0, 6 KO's) is -2000 against former secondary title holder David Avanesyan (23-3-1, 11 KO), who lies at 900. More accurate odds are for the IBF super featherweight eliminator between Jono Carroll (16-0, 3 KO) and Guillaume Frenois (46-1, 12 KO). Carroll is the favorite at -325, Frenois at +250.
