They have completed 28 games of the season so far. Will the 29th be the absolute highlight on Friday?

Goettingen – From 8.30 p.m. the Medical Instinct Veilchen BG 74 Goettingen will play in the third and decisive semi-final playoff against the BBZ Opladen Hawks for promotion to the women’s basketball league. After the 42-62 loss in the first game and the 68, do they make it:

51 victory at home in front of 400 enthusiastic spectators, the second success, they would return to the women’s basketball upper house after just one year.

In terms of sport, there’s now a fifty-fifty game – everything seems to be open. The question is whether captain Jenny Crowder & Co. can repeat the strong performance from last Saturday’s home game in this form. With 23 points and ten assists (“double-double”), Crowder was the outstanding player in the second game, building on her best performances ever. But the Oevermann twins, Viki Karambatsa, Lena Wenke and Tetiana Tkachenko also contributed to the best performance of the season – not forgetting Thalia Kretschmar and Lia Kentzler, who repeatedly gave their teammates breaks.

The fact that the coaching team Ruzica Dzankic and Jonas Fischer could only work with a rotation of eight is also due to the fact that the BG 74 parted ways with Marika Fengkohl “by mutual agreement”. She wished for more time, but the coaches did not comply.

Focused defense will be required again on Friday. Last Saturday the Veilchen Ladies with Leonie Schütter only allowed an Opladenerin in the double-digit point range (only 10!).

“If we perform like we did last Saturday, then we definitely have a chance of winning in Opladen as well. It’s a game, both teams have shown that they have quality,” says Veilchen Ladies managing director Richard Crowder.

Friday’s winner plays the final on Sunday at Rotenburg, who has been promoted. The loser travels to the second semi-final loser Bochum. Only 20 fans are allowed to be there because the pull-out grandstand in the Werner-Heisenberg-Gymnasium is broken and the BG 74 is only entitled to ten percent of the hall capacity. (haz/gsd-nh)
