Football Player Balotelli: "You are the sick side of this world"
The Italian international Balotelli defends himself against racist attacks, especially of people who hide cowardly behind a computer. "Tell me straight in the face what you think about me."
DItalian football international Mario Balotelli has defended himself against racist attacks. The 28-year-old responded via Instagram to insults by fans from Italy.
"Your racist deserves only one thing: that you spend a life in solitude (…) you are the sick side of this world," wrote the 28-year-old. Those who would attack him would cowardly hide behind a computer. "Tell me straight in the face what you think about me," said the striker from OGC Nice.
The Italian, whose parents are from Ghana, had repeatedly called attention to racism in the stadiums in recent years. In May he had been insulted in his comeback in the Italian national team. "My captain must have Italian blood" stood on a poster of the Tifosi in a 2-1 win against World Cup participant Saudi Arabia in St. Gallen.
