Since the campaign ended, the Bronx team has focused on sitting at the table and negotiating with both the Dominican and his agent Scott Boras. The first meeting has already taken place, but everything indicates that there is a second offer and with more benefits for the player.
According to reporter Jon Heyman, the franchise would have “improved its initial offer” in recent days, and thus get ahead of its competitors.

This “perhaps improving their position in a draw in which at least five major market teams participate,” he wrote for the New York Post.
The others interested in Soto are the NY Mets, Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays and Los Angeles Dodgers. The first two have already met with Soto and his work team, while the Californians seem like the most complicated option.
Furthermore, journalist Bob Nightengale recently spoke out about the possibility of the current champions, saying that “they don’t need it.”
MLB insider Bob Nightengale thinks there’s pretty much no chance that the Dodgers sign Juan Soto:
“Realistically, I think there’s a better chance that you and I are playing right field next year for the Dodgers than Juan Soto. They don’t need him.” pic.twitter.com/XgbV5kb7Lo — Doug McKain (@DMAC_LA) November 28, 2024
“I think Juan Soto will stay in New York. “I wouldn’t want to take out Boston or Toronto, but I honestly don’t think the Dodgers aren’t interested in him,” he said.
