Both belong to Czech football legends. You wouldn’t put them together. But they are one family after all. They didn’t know it themselves for a long time. Only one identifying sign helped them.
Little is known, but Slavia Praha coach Jindřich Trpišovský and former outstanding footballer Pavel Horváth are distant relatives. In particular, the latter set out to find out if this is really the case. In his program Desítka Pavol Horváth on Radiožurnál, he directly asked Trpišovský about his family. “Did your grandfather train dogs?” asked Horváth. “Again,” answered Trpišovský clearly. “That’s clear. Our grandfathers were cousins,” the former midfielder of the national team immediately responded.
Horváth wanted to take a meter
“I was having fun with my mom. I told her that I was going to have you on the show and that I needed something to confirm that to me. Now you have nowhere to run. You’re basically part of my family and I’m part of yours,” smiled Horváth, who immediately saw the connection between dog training and Trpišovský training. “If your grandfather trained dogsso you’re the closest to training,” thinks the former support of Pilsen. “Well, that’s a question of whether there’s any connection,” thought Trpišovský, the most unsuccessful league coach in history in the statistics of winning matches.
“When I was younger and we went to watch you play football, that’s what my dad always told me. Hey, that’s your cousin. I didn’t really believe it, because when I looked at you, so I didn’t see any resemblance there.” laughed Trpišovský. “I wanted to take a tape measure so we could measure our thighs here. Like the two of us, it’s just that no one else has one. I don’t know who would win. So there must be some gene there,” he added. “Yeah, there’s a problem with the outfit,” responded Horváth.
They faced each other even as rivals
“My pants size is 36 and the length is 32. I usually have to shorten them. I can’t get past that ass and lower thighs,” Horváth said. “When I go to buy trousers, I immediately report, that I want the largest size across the thighs,” reported Trpišovský. And they both laughed heartily at it. If they were laughing when they faced each other as rivals, they also revealed. It was at a time when Pavel Horváth assisted Michal Bílek in Pilsen for two years and Trpišovský coached in Slavia Prague.
It is said that there were never any verbal fights between the shifters. “It was electrifying to say the least, but Jindra in particular is holding back,” remarked the forty-nine-year-old former footballer. “I don’t remember getting into a fight with anyone in the league. Not at all with Pavel. For me, he is an icon that I used to watch on TV. I have respect for all these guys. They are idols. I try to focus on myself during the match. Then mistakes are made in emotions. And I don’t want that,” concluded Trpišovský, whose Slavia lost another European League duel at the Frankfurt pitch 0:1.
