The Detroit Lions and football star Amon-Ra St. Brown celebrated their tenth win in a row in the NFL on Thursday evening. The German-American’s team managed a narrow 23:20 against the Chicago Bears on Thanksgiving thanks to a strong first half. In the US professional league, Detroit now has eleven wins and one defeat and is still considered a major title contender.

St. Brown caught five of seven passes for 73 yards, the best among wide receivers on the team from the Motor City. Sam LaPorta scored both touchdowns for Detroit, the 25-year-old St. Brown came up empty in the end zone in the second game in a row. Previously, he had scored at least one touchdown in every mission for over two months.

NFL: Bears narrowly miss comeback against Lions

The Lions led 16-0 at halftime and stifled the Bears’ offense. After the break, however, the guests started a spectacular comeback, but missed the equalizer or even the victory in a dramatic final drive: The Bears ran the last play of the game without taking a timeout, although there would still have been a timeout.

This not only irritated many viewers, but also RTL expert Patrick “Coach” Esume, who commented on the game together with Florian “Schmiso” Sommerfeld. At first he didn’t want to believe that the Bears had given up their last play without a timeout and had simply let the clock run down. “That’s crazy,” he finally realized.

For those watching, however, it was the best entertainment. An unexpected guest had previously delivered them to them, among other things. Shortly before the end of the second quarter, Felix Kroos, brother of world champion Toni Kroos, suddenly ran into the RTL studio.

Felix Kroos is annoyed about the Bears’ NFL appearance in Detroit

This was obviously a surprise for Sommerfeld and Esume too. “Are you starting with us now?” Schmiso asked in disbelief? Kroos, however, explained that he would be in the RTL studios for the parallel broadcasts of the Europa League games. He also wanted to take a quick look at the NFL and had a few clear words with him: “This can’t continue like this with the Bears.”

The pronunciation of the name wasn’t entirely clear, but the content was completely correct when the score was 0:16. And the team from Chicago had obviously taken the message to heart, as they almost managed to make a comeback.

“We haven’t seen each other for so long, I really wanted to come down,” Kroos continued, to the delight of his colleagues. Sommerfeld, who, in addition to NFL games, also regularly comments on football games, took the opportunity to ask the ex-professional a few football questions. Esume didn’t like that at all because the Lions game was still going on at the same time.

“Schmiso, now pull yourself together, we’re here at the NFL,” the expert told his colleague. “If I can talk to Felix Kroos about football,” the commentator was about to explain himself,” then Esume intervened with a laugh: “That’s where you show your true colors. You’re actually not a football expert at all.”

This sequence, which was entertaining for viewers and also for the TV team itself, lasted almost two minutes before Felix Kroos said goodbye again. “Get better,” he said at the end, making the NFL duo laugh again. The ex-footballer should therefore continue to be a welcome guest in the future.
