Teamwork, passion, sacrifice and results. They are the ingredients of the most successful team in Italy – and one of the first in Europe – which, in addition to winning, best represents the values ​​of sport. Talent and heart, therefore, for Pallacanestro Olimpia Milano, awarded by Ansmes.

In the headquarters of the Spada Mangiarotti club in the Lombardy capital, the national president Francesco Conforti presented the recognition dedicated to Ugo Stecchi to the director Roberto Bottali, manager of the Milanese company which has been in business for 90 years. A simple but significant ceremony in the presence of the national councilors Luciano Baldini, Mario Facchin and Giuseppe Falco, the general secretary of the Stars of Merit, Giuseppe Brunetti and the treasurer Giulio Corsi. There were, among others, the regional president of Coni, Marco Riva and Carola Mangiarotti in the dual role of “landlady” and president of the Ansmes provincial committee. Giovanni Malagò, the number one in Italian sport, sent a video message.

In previous editions, the national prize had been awarded, starting from 2018, to the largest sports club in the world, the SS. Lazio, followed by Assi Giglio Rosso, a historic sports club founded in Florence in 1922; the Musumeci Greco arms academy in Rome founded in 1878; the Angiulli Bari gymnastics club, founded in 1906; the Jesi fencing club, founded in 1947 and the Pro Recco Waterpolo 1913, the most successful water polo team in the world.

Before the presentation of the award, the conference included in the Ansmes 2024 national project was held on: “Sport, a universal language: inclusion and multi-ethnicity” and, following this, a well-deserved recognition was given to Pierettore Compiani, who for many years was the regional delegate of the deserving association recognized by Coni.

This time too, the adventure companion was the La Molisana company: a consolidated and appreciated combination in the sporting world.
