Simón Muzziotti joins the ninth feathered group of Pericos

By Editorial

Pericos de Puebla is renewing itself, as reflected by the hiring of left-handed hitter Simón Muzziotti, former player for the Philadelphia Phillies of Major League Baseball (MLB) or Las Mayores.

The feathered machinery is in full swing after the departure of the organization’s flagship players such as Danny Ortiz or Leo Germán, since now it has done for a slugger with AAA campaigns of 26 stolen bases with 140 hits and an on-base average of .358.

The outfielder, originally from Cumana, Venezuela, is currently the center fielder for the Águilas del Zulia in Venezuelan baseball, where he has four home runs and 16 RBIs in 26 games.

Thus, the feathered birds are preparing for a 2025 centennial season of the LMB. Muzziotti, in the Majors, played the 2022 campaign, where he only took seven at-bats, hitting one hit for a minuscule average of .143.

The Venezuelan will arrive at Pericos de Puebla in search of making an immediate impact with the aim of seeing the greens as protagonists of the 2025 campaign of the Mexican Baseball League (LMB) from day one.
