The Gwangju City Office of Education announced on the 5th that Seojin Girls’ High School recently held a ‘soft tennis court opening ceremony’ and began operating it in earnest.
The Seojin Girls’ High School soft tennis team, founded in 2022, has been training in poor environments, such as exercising at external facilities such as the Jungheung-dong soft tennis court because there is no practice range within the school.
The newly opened soft tennis court was built in one year after construction began in October 2023 so that soft tennis club students can train in a safe and comfortable environment. It consists of auxiliary facilities such as a tennis court, a lounge, and a director’s office.
The opening ceremony was held with the attendance of about 50 people from the education and sports circles, including Yeodong-gu Hongbok Academy Chairman, Eom Gil-hoon, head of the Physical Education, Arts and Character Education Department at the Gwangju Metropolitan Office of Education, Daegwang Girls’ High School Principal Moon Hong-ju, Seojin Girls’ High School Principal Park Seong-moon, and Gwangju Soft Tennis Association President Kim Yong-gi.
Meanwhile, the Seojin Girls’ High School soft tennis club, founded in February 2022, this year consists of Ga-won Kim (3 years), Min-ji Kim (3 years), Se-na Kim (3 years), Chae-eun So (2 years), Min-jeong Kim (2 years), and Na-rin Bang (1 year). ), and Taeyeon Kim (1 year). It consists of a total of 7 players. 3rd place in ‘2024 105th National Sports Competition Individual Doubles’, ‘Korea Junior National Team Selection (Individual Doubles)’ and ’62nd Presidential National Soft Tennis Competition’ 3rd place in team event and 3rd place in individual doubles, ‘2023 104th National Soft Tennis Tournament’ It has achieved various achievements in just two years and eight months since its founding, including first place in the individual singles event at the Sports Festival.
