Checks in Caserta, two arrests and nine complaints
Moments of tension occurred around 11pm, when a white Renault Twingo did not stop at the halt imposed by the Carabinieri in Piazza della Seta. The driver attempted to run over a soldier and launched into a mad dash towards Vaccheria. After a chase of a few hundred meters, the soldiers stopped the car.
On board there were a 20-year-old and a 16-year-old, both from Caserta and Neapolitan. During the search, the 20-year-old was found in possession of ten doses of cocaine and 624 euros in cash. A brass knuckle, two precision scales, drug packaging material, a 29 cm cleaver and a kitchen knife were found in the car.
The 20-year-old was arrested and placed under house arrest on charges of possession of drugs for the purpose of dealing and illegal possession of weapons. A few hours later, a second arrest was made at a therapeutic community in the Caserta area. The Carabinieri have tracked down a 41-year-old from the Neapolitan area, the recipient of a prison order for drug-related crimes, after the revocation of his therapeutic assignment.
