These are the statements released in a press conference by Reyer Venezia head coach Neven Spahija on the eve of the away match against Pallacanestro Varese, valid for the ninth day of Serie A basketball.
“We don’t want excuses, we have to go and play our game as always. We have physical problems, but we will take the field to win. Varese is an attack-oriented team, among the top three in Italy for offensive efficiency. They shoot a lot of threes and run a lot, so we will have to do many things to limit them and bring home success” began the Orogranata head coach.
“With Ennis’ return we have a good rhythm, he is a player who provides playmaking quality and creates spaces and opportunities for more players. However, we can only win this match with a good defense. Varese has changed players, replacing Mannion with Sykes and Tyus, but in the last few games they have not lost any offensive efficiency” added the lagoon coach.
“Every victory helps, but our team has never given up in any match. We want to start this match with physical and mental toughness, following our game plan. Coming back is always difficult, we need to be more consistent from the first minute” concluded Neven Spahija.
