The Kansas City Chiefs have become the first team in the current NFL season to secure a ticket to the playoffs. The team around star quarterback Patrick Mahomes celebrated their eleventh win in their twelfth game with a 19:17 win against the Las Vegas Raiders on Saturday night and can no longer be pushed out of the top spot in their division.
In the narrow win against Las Vegas, the Chiefs benefited from a failed field goal attempt by the Raiders shortly before the end. During the entire game, only one of the guests’ four field goal attempts found its way into the goal.
Kicker Wright as match winner
Things looked different for the home team. Kicker Matthew Wright secured the victory for his Chiefs with his strong nerves. 13 of the 19 points were his alone. Mahomes contributed a touchdown pass and threw for 306 yards.
Kansas City is aiming for its third Super Bowl triumph in a row this season. The Chiefs currently have a total of four titles to their name.
