NBA: Belgians Camara and Mitchell win during “Black Friday” (video)

Toumani Camara and Ajay Mitchell had a good “Black Friday” in their respective NBA basketball championship meetings since they both won.

The Brussels winger from Portland won with his Blazers 115-106 against Sacramento. Even though he was the least used starter, 33 minutes, Camara made his contribution to the tune of 11 points (4/8 including 1/3 at 3 pts), 4 rebounds and 2 assists. The Blazers based their victory on a large domination in the paint from where they scored 63 of their points against 34 for the Kings.

Portland remains 13th in the West with a record of 8 wins in 20 games, just behind Sacramento (9v-11d).

Ajay Mitchell played his first career match against the Los Angeles Lakers in California. The Thunder justified their status as first in class in the West by defeating LeBon James and Anthony Davis 93-101.

The Canadian leader from Oklahoma City was the big man of the match with 36 personal points including 15 in the last quarter. He was greatly helped by the 18 rebounds captured by pivot Isaiah Hartenstein. At the same time James was limited to 12 points (8 rebounds and 6 assists all the same) and his friend Davis to 15 (and 12 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 stocks). The Lakers paid dearly for their 17 lost balls.

Mitchell was able to walk the floor of the crypto.com Arena for 18 minutes. The Liège guard remained discreet with a stats sheet limited to 4 points (1/3 from 3 points and 1/2 from free throws) and 1 interception.

Oklahoma City leads the Western Conference after this 15th success in 19 meetings. The Lakers (11v-8d) are only sixth.
