At the Hugo del Carril Auditorium, Lanús Gobierno received the city’s athletes who participated in the 2024 Buenos Aires Games, in Mar del Plata. In an event led by the mayor of Lanús Julián Álvarez, recognition was also given to those teachers who accompanied the more than 5,000 boys and girls on the trip.
“Being able to travel to represent Lanús and the identity of our city is a memory that will accompany them for a lifetime. From Lanús Government we made a great effort to make this dream come true. Our goal is for the boys and girls who grow up in the city to stay and have positive memories of this land that we love and choose to live and develop,” said Julián Álvarez.
Coming from 44 schools in the district, a total of 88 athletes reached the final with a final result of 8 gold and 6 bronze medals. Being a synonym of pride for the neighbors, each one of them left Lanús at the top, based on effort, discipline, work, perseverance, talent and a lot of responsibility.
For the Lanús Government, being able to encourage sports within the city is very important, and that is why the Municipality, over the last few weeks, held different meetings with local athletes and talents, to whom subsidies were given. , clothing and training materials so that they continue developing their skills in each competition, whether in individual or group disciplines.
