The update of the ranking of the Pan American Judo Confederation highlights several Mexican judokas in the first places, who will seek to ensure their classification for the Junior Pan American Games 2025.
The Pan American Judo Confederation (CPJ) published the most recent update of the continental ranking for the Junior Pan American Games Asunción 2025highlighting several Mexican judokas in the first places and close to securing their classification.
This update came after the Pan American Cup Montreal 2024held recently, where Mexico obtained seven medals: one gold, three silver and three bronze. These results allowed national athletes to improve or consolidate their positions on the list.
Among the best located are Frida Mayaleader in the -57 kilogram category with 420 points; Aylin Ávilasecond in -52 kilograms with 620 points; Renata Sandovalsecond in -70 kilograms with 380 points; and Eduardo Sagasteguithird in -60 kilograms with 490 points.

Other notable Mexican judokas, who appear within the top eight places in their categories, are Maria Cruz (-63 kg), Yamileth Juárez (-70 kg), Rafael Ramirez (-73 kg), Carlos Hernandez (-60 kg), Gerardo Castelán (+100 kg), Paula Sanchez (-78 kg), Barbara Sanchez (+78 kg) and Ian Aguirre (-66 kg).
The last two tournaments to accumulate points towards qualification will be the Junior Pan American Cup and the Junior Pan American Championshipscheduled for April 2025. Mexico will seek to secure the greatest number of places in these events.
The classification system for Assumption 2025 It includes the top seven places in the ranking per category, an additional place for the host country and a maximum of one competitor per nation in each weight division.
