As before every school holiday, there was another belt test last Friday, February 9th. The judoka were tested for the yellow-orange and orange belts. Leon, Maksym and Yannik took part in the yellow-orange test and Anna, Maja and Henry took part in the orange test.
After viewing the obligatory falling program, the demonstration of various standing and floor techniques began. Depending on the belt level, a certain number of twisting techniques and foot techniques must be demonstrated while standing, and various hold changes and releases must be demonstrated on the ground.
The examinees all performed well, even if there were a few problems from time to time due to the usual nervousness of a few candidates. Some of the techniques were demonstrated very fluently at an advanced level. In a complex sport, these skills can only be acquired through regular training, a lot of repetition of the techniques and independent, motivated and concentrated work with your partner. This can be very challenging at that age, depending on the child’s level of development. The coaching team therefore always strives to achieve a balance between fun and technique acquisition during training. The belt test is always a good measure of success and the examinees and trainers were also completely satisfied with this test.
After passing the test, the certificates for the new belt level were awarded and the new belt could then be tied on. The group photo concluded it and now it’s vacation!
