Mixed fortunes for the Amiens SC teams this weekend. The first team was held in check by Martigues on Friday, as were the U17s against Ajaccio. The reserve, in R1, lost at Choisy-le-Bac, while the U19s and the women returned from Normandy and the North with the three points
Under the eyes of Omar Daf who had made the trip, the U19 players from Amiens SC won in Caen 3-1. A ground in Caen where, until now, only PSG had won. The Amiens had to open the score in the 6th minute through Injai, but Caen equalized from the penalty spot before the break. The Amiens left with the same motivation and the desire to regain the advantage in the score. Aissat gave the advantage in the 57th minute and Injai scored twice (3-1, 88th). “It’s a great victory built and deserved with a group involved and invested in defeating Caen”underlined coach Yann Lecoq. Despite numerous absences, the ASC group responded and the leaders took their responsibilities to win with a two-goal gap against the best defense in the championship and which until now had only conceded eight goals. In the standings, the U19s are 4th in the standings with 21 points with 6 wins, 3 draws and 2 defeats. Sunday, they will host Dunkirk.
The U17s held in check by Ajaccio
As for the U17 players coached by Victoire Briend, they were held in check by a very dynamic team from AC Ajaccio 2-2. Victor Briend’s charges led at the break, but they didn’t quite last the distance and therefore had to settle for a share of points which didn’t quite make the coach happy. Led by a remarkable Enzo Somon, the Amiens had to open the scoring following a dazzling breakthrough on the left side of Vercruysse. The latter sent a perfect cross and Enzo Somon was at the receiving end. With his left foot, he left the opposing goalkeeper no chance 1-0 (14th).
Unfortunately, this advantage had to be canceled before the half hour mark, following a corner. The Amiens goalkeeper released the ball which was propelled into his goal: 1-1 (27th). Just before the break, ASC regained the advantage following a great strike from Psonka whose dazzling shot left the Corsican goalkeeper no chance 2-1 (44th). Was this early goal supposed to “paralyze” the people of Amiens? Still, Ajaccio was overall going to dominate an Amiens team which was constantly falling back and was therefore at the mercy of an opposing attack. This second Corsican goal must have surprised more than one since Turpin was off-center on the right and had to send a long ball with his left foot which was flying towards the top corner, but very unlucky this Sunday, the Amiens goalkeeper was unable to control the ball.
It was the second Corsican goal which was not undeserved given the pressure exerted in the second half by the young players of the Isle of Beauty 2-2 (’74th). “Yes, of course I’m disappointed, because in terms of content we should have offered something else”underlined Victor Briend. In the first half, there were some good phases of play and, at the start, we had several imbalances. We did everything we could to score a third goal, but our players lacked a little maturity. Let’s not forget that these are young people who want to succeed. Perhaps we lacked courage, but we must not throw everything away. We have to come up with something else, but we continue to work. It is the work that will allow us to move forward. » In the standings, the U17s are 5th with 18 points (5 wins, 3 draws and 3 defeats). Next Sunday, the U 17s will go to Cambrai.
