Mirortic’s show keeps Olimpia ahead for long stretches of the match, albeit with minimal gaps at the end of each quarter. But it is without him that Milan forges the decisive break that shapes the magical night in Istanbul. A stunning 13-3, built in the first half of the fourth period, where he ferociously attacks the game by launching himself on the plus 13, and causing a totally disconnected and disheartened Fenerbahce to roll to the bottom of the underworld. Olimpia works the Turks at the flanks, doing so with a balanced offensive system, which manages to resolve timing problems and involve the entire group. There is no void around Mirotic: Dimitrijevic perhaps plays one of his best games in the Euroleague in terms of coolness and clarity. The bench produces two excellent performances from Brooks and Causeur.
