Djokovic rose to the highest position in the ATP world rankings announced on the 3rd (Korean time). It rose one step from 2nd place at the end of last month to 1st place.
He won the men’s singles title at the Australian Open tennis tournament, which ended in Melbourne, Australia on the 2nd. He regained the world number one position he lost to Rafael Nadal (Spain) in early November last year in just three months.
Nadal was eliminated in the quarterfinals at the Australian Open and fell to second place behind Djokovic. Dominic Thiem (Austria), who met Djokovic in the final of the Australian Open and lost 2-3 to take second place, rose one place from 5th to 4th.
