With simultaneous events in Ushuaia and Río Grande, the province’s Sports Secretariat presented the teams that will be participating in the Aysen 2024 Binational Games, an opportunity in which the new clothing was also unveiled.
In the provincial capital, at the Casa del Deporte, Vice Governor Mónica Urquiza accompanied by Councilor Fernando Oyarzún and the Undersecretary of Sports South Zone, Natalia Muñoz, participated in the protocol event with the presence of athletes and family members.
At the meeting, the clothing was delivered to the members of the Volleyball, Cycling, Soccer, Swimming, Judo, Athletics and Basketball teams in the women’s and men’s branches that will represent Tierra del Fuego AeIAS in the most important binational competition of the year.
At the same time, in the brand new gymnasium Annex of the Microstadium in Río Grande, the athletes from the different teams who will travel between this Saturday, November 9 and Sunday, November 10 to the neighboring country were received.
In Río Grande, the Secretary of Sports, Matías Runin was accompanied by Councilor Federico Runin and the Secretary of Political Representation, Federico Giménez, as well as Sebastián Bendaña, Executive Manager of the Municipal Agency for Sports, Culture and Youth, along with officials from other areas that participated in the event.
The Araucanía Binational Games are a competition that brings together young people from the Patagonian regions of Chile and the Patagonian provinces of Argentina since 1992. In this new edition, the Aysén region will be held as its headquarters and the sub-venues will be the cities of Coyhaique, Puerto Aysén and Punta Arenas from November 10 to 16.
The majority of the Fuegians will leave this Saturday by land for the Aysen Region, while a smaller group will do the same on Sunday to the city of Punta Arenas, where Soccer and Cycling will be held.
