SÖLDEN – Norwegian skier Alexander Steen Olsen was in the lead after the elite thirty of the 1st round of the giant slalom of the World Cup in Sölden, Austria.

The Swiss Thomas Tumler (+0.42) was fourth overall, and the Norwegian success in the 1st round was highlighted by the fifth Atle Lie McGrath (+0.50). In addition to Odermatt, home team Manuel Feller and Stefan Brennsteiner, who had excellent intermediate times, also dropped out.

The event was Marcel Hirscher’s return to the prestigious series after a five-year break, the legendary Austrian started under the Dutch flag and wore number 34. Another returnee, Norwegian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, returned after a one-year break in the Brazilian jersey, he was going to the track with number 41.
