NBA: Ajay Mitchell has the best game of his career… against a very small Victor Wembanyama

Ajay Mitchell has no time to waste! Author of his first career points against Chicago five days ago, the Belgian passed the second last night by crossing the symbolic bar of 10 points.

Always used off the bench by the OKC coach, Mark Daigneaultthe Belgian delivered a superb performance against San Antonio: 12 points, at an impeccable percentage (5/6 shooting) and 4 assists for an overall evaluation of 16.

In this match, won masterfully by the Thunder, he was the best and most used player on the Oklahoma bench (22 minutes!) and the 4th best scorer on the team. While he tiptoed into the NBA, Mitchell is slowly starting to make a name for himself, especially since the 2024 class of rookies does not, for the moment, shine with its offensive performances.

Note that his prestigious opponent of the evening, Victor Wembanyama, had the worst match of his career. Perfectly muzzled by his great rival, Chet Holmgren, the Frenchman had a nightmarish evening, in line with his somewhat timid start to the season: 6 small points and only 5 shots taken throughout the evening. It’s his lowest point total since he’s been in the NBA and his lowest shot total.

The height of an evening to forget, he had to temporarily return to the locker room after a hit during the 2nd quarter. Returning later, he didn’t even attempt a single shot in the second half. Funny evening for an alien who suddenly became human again.
