Frenchman Victor Wembanyama was instrumental in the Spurs’ first success this season, just like Lebron James and Anthony Davis during the Lakers’ victory against the Kings on Saturday in the NBA.

. Decisive Wemby

Two days after a disappointing first against Dallas, Victor Wembanyama scored 29 points in 30 minutes to allow the San Antonio Spurs to win at home against the Houston Rockets (109-106).

He was helped by strong forward Jeremy Sochan‘s 17 points and 12 rebounds, as well as veteran point guard Chris Paul‘s nine assists.

The Frenchman won his physical duel against Turkish pivot Alperen Sengun. He also stood out with a magnificent three-point shot made in the last second of the third quarter.

Opposite, fullback Jalen Green also scored 29 points for the Rockets, but he missed a basket at the buzzer to try to equalize.

The Spurs, who had a 21-point lead at mid-match, were almost caught in the final moments.

Gregg Popovich’s men will not experience the same relaxation when they once again meet the Rockets at home on Monday.

. The Lakers confirm

Between them, LeBron James and Anthony Davis scored 63 points, including 30 in the fourth quarter, during the success of the Los Angeles Lakers against Sacramento (131-127).

The Californian franchise has won its three matches since the start of the season.

The Lakers, who took a lead of up to 15 points at halftime (64-60), were trailing 94-87 at the start of the last quarter.

But they started this one by scoring 21 points in a row, including 16 from James, the best scorer in the history of the league, who still impresses even though he has just started his 22nd season at 39.
