Bad news for the show. Victor Wembanyama will not play the warm-up match for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games against Germany this Monday evening.
The interior is suffering from a viral syndrome, as the French team revealed on the social network X (ex-Twitter) an hour and a half before the match.
“Les Bleus will play with 11 players tonight against Germany. Victim of a viral syndrome, Victor Wembanyama will not participate in the match,” shared the French team’s account. The San Antonio Spurs phenomenon, who always attracts a large audience, will therefore recover this Monday.
This Saturday, the Blues were already facing Germany, for their second match of preparation for the Olympic Games. Victor Wembanyama had broken his record of points with the selection. The center had scored 25 points and largely contributed to the success of the team (90-66).
During the first preparation match of the Blues against Turkey, Victor Wembanyama had already impressed, as is often the case. He was lined up for the first time alongside Rudy Gobert. The pair of giants had known how to combine and offer some high-quality sequences. The French had largely won (96-46).
Vincent Collet’s team will therefore have to do without its star this Monday in Montpellier. This will be a good test to ensure that it is capable of shining without her.
