Multiple reports in Italy claim that Juventus have opened negotiations to sign Jean Clair Todibo after UEFA blocked the Frenchman’s transfer to Manchester United.
According to all Italian sports newspapers, Juventus are interested in OGC Nice defender Todibo and have opened preliminary talks with the French club.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Nice’s asking price is around €40 million, the same transfer fee agreed with Manchester United. According to Corriere dello Sport, Juventus can close a deal for around €35 million.
Blocking
UEFA recently blocked Todibo’s transfer to Old Trafford under multi-club ownership rules.
OGC Nice owner Ineos has a minority stake in the Red Devils and although both clubs were allowed to compete in the Europa League next season, Todibo has been banned from joining United.
Juventus and Nice are on good terms, having recently reached an agreement for the transfer of Khephren Thuram. The French midfielder is expected to undergo his medical with the Bianconeri next week.
Plan B
Arsenal’s Jakub Kiwior is also on Juventus’ agenda, but according to Gazzetta and Corriere dello Sport he is the Old Lady’s ‘plan B’, even though the Polish international has already played under Thiago Motta at Spezia.
