Vermenton Shines in Judo Spotlight: A Weekend of Success and Development

Vermenton. Judo in the spotlight. During the grand slam of judo at the Accor Aréna in Paris, the Cultural and Sports Association of Vermenton (ACSV) won a competition with, as a result, a visit from the national mascot Kodomo.

The association, chaired by Patricia Bourdiguel, took advantage of this opportunity to organize a major sports weekend at the Vermenton college gymnasium on Saturday afternoon. One hundred and forty children from the department’s clubs came to participate in XXL training with Patrick Papin, ACSV judo teacher, and Philippe Thomas, federal technical advisor for Yonne, as well as coaches from the invited clubs under the watchful eye from Kodomo. The latter hosted this day to the great pleasure of the children and the new president of the departmental committee Thierry Lataste.

Sunday, change of generations with a line-up made up of judokas ranging from veterans to young seniors, supervised by Philippe Taurines, 6th dan black belt, national trainer and five-time veteran world champion. The judo section of the Cultural and Sports Association of Vermenton (ACSV) has thirty-three members, mainly children. The club is looking to expand its membership towards adults and adolescents.
