The judo department of TuS Großkarolinenfeld celebrated its 30th anniversary. Numerous members, friends and guests of honor took part in the celebrations. The highlights of the day were the judo safari, a lavish coffee and cake buffet and the honoring of long-standing board members and trainers.

Großkarolinenfeld – “30 years is a long time. You grow together, friendships develop, you become a small family, a judo family.” With these words, department head Stephan Goldammer opened the ceremony for the judo department of the TuS.

The Großkarolinenfeld Judo Club was founded in 1994 by a dedicated teacher. Originally, he offered judo as a sport for his students to give them the opportunity to obtain a sports qualification certificate. This initiative quickly developed into a greater enthusiasm for the sport. He decided to establish an official judo division of the TuS Großkarolinenfeld eV. Since these modest beginnings, the club has developed into a major player in Bavarian judo and can now look back on three decades full of sporting successes and community highlights.

    Judo Safari in the program

The event attracted numerous members, friends and guests of honour and offered a varied programme for young and old. The “active” participants could take part in the judo safari, which was divided into 21 different stations. Here you could prove yourself with a family member or friend in a wide range of disciplines and collect points together for the coveted patches. For all other visitors there was a rich coffee and cake buffet in a cosy atmosphere where you could talk about “old times”.

    District chairman congratulates

The participants were particularly pleased about the presence of Denis Weisser, district chairman of Upper Bavaria in the Bavarian Judo Association, who in his speech in the afternoon acknowledged the long-standing friendship between the Judo Club in TuS Großkarolinenfeld and the friendly Judo TuS Club from Bad Aibling.

An emotional highlight of the celebration was the honoring of the long-standing and committed board members and trainers of the judo department. In recognition of their special services and achievements, the Bavarian Judo Association awarded them the badge of honor with a certificate for Simon Pfaab (board member and trainer) and the badge of honor with a certificate in gold with a wreath for Brigitte Gebelein (trainer) and Stephan Goldammer (board member and trainer). This honor underlined the deep appreciation that the association has for its members. Overall, the 30-year celebration of the Großkarolinenfeld Judo Association was a great success and impressive evidence of the lively club work and the strong sense of community that characterizes the club.
