(sid). The Dallas Mavericks have fended off the first match point in the final series of the North American professional basketball league NBA with an impressive show. The Texans, led by German forward Maximilian Kleber, overcame the Boston Celtics in game four in Dallas with 122:84 – it was the third-highest victory in the history of the NBA finals. In the best-of-seven series, the Mavericks thus reduced the lead to 1:

    3. On Tuesday night (2:30 a.m./DAZN) they must win again in Boston to maintain their chance of winning their second championship title after 2011 (with Dirk Nowitzki). Never before has an NBA team won a playoff series after being 0-3 down.

“The Celtics just have to close the deal. But that’s a very difficult thing when the opponent has nothing left to lose. We saw that today,” said Mavs coach Jason Kidd. “We put up resistance and now we have to keep going like that. It’s that simple – there’s no surgery here.”

Dallas was already leading 61-35 at halftime and continued to pick up the pace in the third quarter, and the game was decided early.

Top stars Luka Doncic (29 points) and Kyrie Irving (21) were the best scorers for the Mavs, the German Kleber contributed five points to the victory. Jayson Tatum scored 15 points for the weak Celtics.
