Tennis: Ons Jabeur renounces the Paris Olympic Games

After Aryna Sabalenka, it is up to Ons Jabeur, 10th in the world and three times Grand Slam finalist (Wimbledon 2022 and 2023, US Open 2022), to give up the Paris Olympic Games. The 29-year-old posted a message on social media explaining that “after consulting (her) medical team regarding participation in the Paris Olympic Games, we have decided that the rapid change of surface and body adaptation required would put my knee in danger and compromise the rest of (his) season.”

“I have always loved representing my country in any competition” but “I have to listen to my body,” added Jabeur, who competed in the 2012 Olympic Games in London, 2016 in Rio and 2021 in Tokyo, beaten to each time in the first round. She underwent surgery on her right knee in 2023.

At Roland Garros, where the Olympic events will take place, Ons Jabeur was beaten in the quarter-finals this year by the American Coco Gauff (4-6, 6-2, 6-3).
