Serge Ibaka Close to Returning to Real Madrid as Replacement for Vincent Poirier, Reports Say

Veteran center Serge Ibaka is reportedly close to returning to Real Madrid to replace center Vincent Poirier, media reports. Encestando.es.

Ibaka, 34, has reportedly reached a one-season deal to return to the Merengue team where he briefly played in 2011 after the closing of the NBA.

Trained between L’Hospitalet and Basket Manresa, the Congolese arrived in the NBA with the 24th pick in the first round of the 2008 Draft, chosen by the defunct Seattle Supersonics.

Throughout his NBA career, he wore the colors of the OKC Thunder, Orlando Magic, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Clippers and a final stay with the Milwaukee Bucks.

His averages were 12 points, 7.1 rebounds and 1.9 blocks in 919 regular season games.
