Sébastien Ogier will be at the start of the Latvia Rally

Sébastien Ogier will compete in the Latvia Rally, scheduled for July 18 to 21, although he was originally supposed to miss this 8th round of the WRC. But Toyota has decided to postpone the Rally1 debut of Sami Pajari, who will take the wheel of a Yaris Rally1 in Finland, at home, from August 1 to 4. This therefore frees up a seat for Latvia, and the Frenchman has agreed to occupy it.

“It was not the planned program, but the opportunity presented itself,” confirmed the eight-time world champion. The team wanted me to do more rallies than planned and I accepted with pleasure. It’s a way for me to thank them for allowing me to follow this partial program for three years. I really enjoy our season and our level of performance. I’m still a competitor and I want to help the team as best I can, so they can win the constructors’ title. »

En Lettonie, Ogier will be accompanied by Champion en titre, Kalle Rovanperä, Elfyn Evans et Takamoto Katsuta.
